Welcome to our community! Whether you’re coming for the first time, returning to the Church after an absence or, visiting from another faith tradition, we’re delighted you’re here. Our church is a friendly and welcoming place where everyone will feel at home. At Mass, you can expect a peaceful atmosphere of prayer, sacred music, Scripture readings, and the celebration of the Eucharist which is at the heart of Catholic worship. Feel free to participate as you’re comfortable. After Mass, we encourage you to stay and meet others and enjoy our legendary coffee and cake; our greeters and parishioners would love to welcome you personally and help you find your place in our church family. Of course! Our church is extremely child friendly and kids being kids is no disturbance at all. We have a fully-equipped creche (crying chapel) with a full view of the proceedings. In addition there are changing facilities in the washrooms. When the weather is good there is a play area behind the church that children are welcome to enjoy.
Sunday Mass lasts an hour and consists of the standard Catholic Mass including The Liturgy of the Word, a Sermon or Homily by the Priest, hymns sung by the choir and congregation, the celebration of the Eucharist and distribution of Communion. Please note that the Eucharist is reserved for Catholics who have completed sacramental preparation. If you are not in this group you are welcome to receive a blessing from the Priest. Simply join the line for Communion with your arms crossed over your chest and the Priest will administer a blessing to you and your children if you bring them with you.
Most people dress well (but casually and comfortably) out of respect for the Church and ceremony. Some choose to wear a suit and tie or a formal dress but it is not necessary.
Our congregation and greeters are always happy to help as much as needed. Please feel free to use the form above to tell us you're coming if you have a complex situation requiring assistance so we may be prepared to give you the best possible support.
Sure. We have a regular first Friday of the month evening Mass at 19:00 PM in our Blessed Sacrament Chapel followed by 24 hour adoration throughout the night. For young people we are home to Boy Scouts of America Troop 46 and we have regular social events and gatherings like St Patrick's Day and barbecues as well as events for Christmas and Thanksgiving. There are too many to list so make sure you sign up to our Church Bulletin to find out more.
Our congregations and members perform a number of community service programs and initiatives and we always welcome those who wish to contribute. At Mass we need Greeters, ushers, Altar servers - young and old - Lectors as well as people to help set up the after-Mass coffee morning. We have a number of social initiatives also and it is easiest if you contact us through the form and someone will talk you though what these activities are.
